ROUND ISLAND LIGHTHOUSE
SUNRISE ON HORN ISLAND

Located 12 miles off shore from Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Horn Island is one of four barrier islands that form a chain along the Mississippi Sound. The fourteen miles of untouched shoreline that face the open waters of the Gulf give just a small taste of the islands beauty. Horn is the "Cumberland Island" of the Mississippi Sound and all worth the paddle to get to her.
The tour is offered in a three day expedition and our distance from Pascagoula to Horn Island is just under eight miles. Round Island, a small atoll three miles into our paddle, offers an opportunity for a lunch break, as well as time to explore the small lighthouse that once provided navigational aid to the ships in the area.

Please be aware!
Many sea kayaking clubs, groups and organizations co-ordinate trips to Horn Island. Because of the challenging nature crossing the Mississippi Sound and ICW, only sea kayakers with previous open ocean experience should attempt this trip.
If you or anyone in your kayaking group does not have open ocean experience and first aid training, it is highly recommended that you plan this trip only with a qualified and experienced open ocean guide.
Let us guide you safely to Horn Island!
