Located 12 miles off shore from Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Horn Island is one of four barrier islands that form a chain along the Mississippi Sound. The fourteen miles of untouched shoreline that face the open waters of the Gulf give just a small taste of the islands beauty. Horn is the "Cumberland Island" of the Mississippi Sound and all worth the paddle to get to her.
The tour is offered in a three day expedition and our distance from Pascagoula to Horn Island is just under eight miles. Round Island, a small atoll three miles into our paddle, offers an opportunity for a lunch break, as well as time to explore the small lighthouse that once provided navigational aid to the ships in the area.
